From Martha

Greetings Travel Friends,

This journey weaves together North Macedonia and the north of Greece—Ohrid's lake and UNESCO old town, mountain Krushevo, lakeside Kastoria, biblical Veria, royal Vergina, and vibrant Thessaloniki before we circle back to Skopje. It's a chance to slow down, taste farm and family tables, and walk streets where history is still underfoot.

Where Scripture touches the route—Paul in Veria, the tombs at Vergina, Thessaloniki—we'll have room to reflect together. Mostly, we'll travel as we always do: as a small travel family, looking after one another and leaving space for wonder.

Letting our light shine together,

Martha

Practical Information

Travel Logistics

Getting there

Many North American travelers depart the U.S. on Saturday, May 29, 2027 for an overnight flight; the land program begins with arrival in Skopje on Sunday, May 30. The tour ends with a morning transfer to Skopje International Airport on Tuesday, June 8, 2027. Internal routing and the return coach from Thessaloniki are built into the itinerary. Turkish Airlines and Austrian Airlines are common options—final recommendations come with your booking. Group air may be available on request.

What to pack

Early June: warm sun with possible rain—bring a light jacket. Comfortable walking shoes for cobbles and inclines in old towns; modest clothing for monasteries; layers for lake and mountain days. Tap water is generally safe to drink in North Macedonia; many travelers still prefer bottled water.

Activity level

Moderate walking with some climbing on optional segments (canyon paths, uneven archaeological sites). Ohrid's old town has cobbled, sloped streets. The pace allows rest breaks; if weather disrupts an outdoor meal or activity, the leader may adjust the plan.

Booking Information

Deposit: $500 per person (per reservation form)

Final payment (land): April 1, 2027

Group size: Typically 10–12 guests; land price quoted for 12 travelers
